Today I am going to give you the top 5 best foods you should eat everyday. Starting off my list in the number five spot is yogurt. Yogurt is a great source of calcium but the thing that is great that most people don't know about is the beneficial bacteria, know as probiotics. These limit the amount of harmful bacteria in your stomach. Every one should have about 3/4 of a cup of yogurt everyday. The number four spot belongs to broccoli, broccoli is the number 1 cancer fighting food in the world and that alone is enough to eat it everyday for me. If you steam broccoli for 3 to 4 minutes it will be he most beneficial. Every day you should have around 1/2 cup of broccoli. This one way surprise you but the number three spot goes to olive oil. Olives have the best fats for you in the world and that's not all. Olive oil also lowers your cholesterol. Make sure to have around 1 tablespoon of olive oil in your diet every day. Garlic is in the number two spot because of its great antibacterial,anti-fungal and antiviral properties. The disease-fighting potential come from the amount of sulfur compounds inside of it which act as antioxidants. It is recommended to eat 6 or more cloves of garlic cloves a week to cut your risk of colorectal, stomach and prostate cancer in half. To get the most out of your garlic, its recommended to chop or crunch your garlic and let it sit for 10 minutes to fully release its healing potential. Now the number one best food for you in the world, is blueberries. This antioxidant plant has pigments that make blueberries blue guard against heart disease. These pigments also guard against cancer, age-related blindness, and memory loss. The recommended amount of blueberries is to have 1/2 cup a day. There are a few reasons that I am writing this blog. One of the reasons is, is because I absolutely hate it when I see people not caring about what they are eating and what it is doing to their body. Another reason is that I know some people trying to lose weight but they just are not doing it right. What they do is go on 3 month spans of working out everyday and barley eating any food but once those 3 months are over, they go right back to the way they were eating before. Doing this just lets all of that weight that they lost just come back and i can' stand that. It's my goal to help some of those people any of the other people that are doing that or are just trying to lose weight in general. Some of the worst foods for you can be very deceptive. The food that takes number five on my list of the worst foods to eat are "Low-Fat" label foods. When companies put low fat on the title they really usually substitute the fat with sugar. Some cookies, salad dressings, yogurt are all culprits of this deceptive trick. Number four goes to potato chips, the chips may be delicious but if you are trying to lose weight these are not for you. The chips are fat filled "bad carbs" that go straight to your waist and not to mention how much sodium can be on the extra salted chips. No matter how delicious doughnuts may be they will always be bad for you and that's why they are number 3 on my list of the worst foods for you. Doughnuts contain lots of trans fat, sugar and refined flour. Many doughnuts have 10 to 20 grams of fat and 250 to 300 empty calories. Frozen meals are some of the worst for you and that's why they are number two on my list of bad foods. Frozen meals may be small but they are loaded with calories. An average frozen meal or T.V dinner has 64 grams of fat and 1,020 calories. These meals are also heavily processed with high amounts of sodium. The number one food on my list of the worst foods for you is all processed meat. Study's have shown that meat preserved with chemicals are linked with colon cancer. These meat products also are high in sodium, fat and have very few nutrients like fiber. If you want to hear about "The Best Foods for You" just let me know. There are so many vitamins and it may be hard be hard to chose what ones you want to take. That's what I'm going to talk about, what vitamins to take and the best vitamins in foods. One of the best vitamins to take would be Vitamin A. Vitamin A makes your eyes healthier, nicer teeth, and nicer skin. Some example of foods with vitamin A in them are carrots, sweet potatoes, and melons. Vitamin B is another great one to take, vitamin B makes your body produce more energy so you don't tire out throughout the day. It also boosts your immune functions and also boosts your iron absorption. Some foods with lots of vitamin B in them are as follows; grains, potatoes, bananas, and beans. Iron pills are good to take but most people take iron naturally. Iron builds muscle naturally but also maintains healthy blood. Oysters are the best source of iron but sometimes those can be hard to eat and lots of people don' like them so those people can also try, beans, seeds, cereal, and spinach. Vitamin K is one of the biggest vitamin factors that few people talk about. Without vitamin K blood coagulation would occur. Blood coagulation's are blood clots and no one wants those so what you have to do is eat greens, such as kale, Brussels sprouts, spinach and broccoli. Those are in my opinion are some of the most important vitamins and minerals to take. The most important meal of the day is breakfast. Breakfast fuels you for the day and you need lots of good nutrients to make a good breakfast. One of the main nutrients you need is protein. Protein has many good qualities, for example it can fill you up so when you first start work or school you will be full and can concentrate on whatever you are doing for longer because you wont have a grumbling stomach. Another great quality of protein is the Amino Acids in it, Amino Acids give you energy and repair muscle tissue. Carbohydrates are also great in a breakfast. Carbohydrates or carbs give you energy, carbs are found in oatmeal and other grain products. Fruit in the morning is always a good thing, fruit gives a person the essential vitamins and minerals a person needs. (I'll talk about that in another post.) A great breakfast would be eggs, oatmeal, some fruit and a glass of milk. With all of these components you will for sure be full until lunch to reduce snacking. Doing this will also help you concentrate like i mentioned before and it will also just make you more happy and energetic. I would like to be a thought leader in nutrition and supplementation in bodybuilding. Knowing all of the proper foods to eat has always been interesting to me. When i started to work out this thought really took off. Your body need certain vitamins and minerals to build muscle properly and to recover from you last workout. I find that it is insane that you can change how your body looks, and how you feel just by eating different. Knowing proper nutrition isn't just about eating, knowing nutrition can change your life. |
